Red Beet Eggs.
A friend of mine moved to Louisiana, got married to a guy born and raised on Louisiana, and had kids. They were here visiting last night and we had red beet eggs with dinner. The husband had no clue what they were and the son asked what kind of bird laid an egg like that. I did not know red beet eggs were a regional thing. A guy I work with told me his daughter in law, from Philly, never heard of them either.

Hugs for everyone that's having a bad day

Motherhen, definitely ask about all that! Those birds are WAY too high end to lose like that! Good luck, sending super special awesome hatching vibes your way!

Tweetr, definitely contact someone about that problem! My neighbors across the street don't fix any of their cats, so there's always 10-15 of them. I drew the line when they started hunting/killing my birds. I let them know that the cat's presence would not be tolerated on the property and that I even had the right to silence the felines if they damaged or destroyed my property or livestock. There's been far less cat sightings since then. In your case, animal control should remove them all...
I have been calling animal control and it seems like they have just taken the phone off the hook - they line just rings as busy for the last 2 HOURS now grrrr I called the lewisburg vet hospital seeing if they had a number and they gave me the local dog/misc animal catcher - he said he doesn't deal with cats and says that the town of millmont doesn't deal with cat problems either

I can just imagine this being you walking through your yard!!
Yeah but the roles will be reversed lol
I know how I handle farel cats, but my method may not be an option for you. My sister had a female she refused to fix (until she and her daughters had 5 litters) and I took care of the tom cats that came around.
I agree animal control should remove them for you. I spoke to someone in my township office and I was told they don't even need to go after my animals...but there are a lot around and people ditch unwanted cats up here all the time.
Yeah a am thinking we are going to have to go down that route - doesn't bother me, no one is looking after them so they aren't getting the care they need and all the animal shelters around us I looked at online have nothing BUT cats for adoption ..... if only we had the means to "dispatch" them

People living in northern York County are on alert after a recent bear sighting in a residential neighborhood.

And here i thought we didin't need to worry about bears down here...
WOW, scary stuff - we have the mountain about 2-3 miles behind our house and bears come into town on occasion - nothing scares me more than the idea of a bear, we don't have those d a m n things in australia lol

LOL I've never heard of them

This new interest in raising chickens is a strange thing..................

I found myself getting very very happy after having my folks find a big roll of hardware cloth in their basement that they don't need and just offering it to me!

I am pretty sure this kind of thing never provided such elation in the past!

kinda weird! yet if it makes a person happy................cant complain!

Around here we call them pickled eggs. You flavor/color them with pickled beets & they turn a reddish purple color.

Free chicken supplies are always a good thing.

It doesn't surprise me that he doesn't ours doesn't either. If they're eating your dog food, you can bet that a few will be easy to catch in a live trap with just a little tuna or cat food. Put it right on your side of the property line. As far as dispatching them...I can probably help with that. You're not too far away, check with your township's regs regarding discharging a firearm before I make any promises.
Quote: I know a lot of people who've never heard of them, most are transplants. It's like gravy on french fries vs cheese fries. You go into Ashland/Mt. Carmel area they often look at you weird if you ask for cheese, go to the Scranton area and some people have never heard of putting gravy on fries.

We eat fries both ways around here, plus with chili on them...LOL

As for the cats, if firearms aren't a possibility there's always they way we get rid of coons & rats around here. Fill a trash can with water & drop the trap in & walk away until it stops bubbling.
