Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Just visited friends and discussed chicken coop building etc and they gave me some nice wood that they had in their garage!

Yeah free wood..............and its even cut to pieces that are all the same length! gotta love that as I am not that experienced with a saw!

Now to measure and plan according to materials I am accumulating!

Weird way to have fun but its fun so what the heck!

Quote: She knew. She tried to tell me some of her pullets were hatching with head spots. I knew she was lying but had already driven over an hour to meet her & another person who had scovies. I really didn't feel like bringing all of those cochins back home. I just chalked it up as a loss & am now trying to sell the extra roos since I don't have hens for them. I have 3 gorgeous little boys (Cream Legbars, Greenfire Farms lines) for sale if anyone needs them. $30 each at almost 4 months old.

Earlier this year I had a tomcat prowling my property, my SO thought it was cute until she saw it in the run. One 22 just behind it in the dirt and it hasn't returned. Checked with the neighbors and verified which cats were their pets first. Everyone said feral.

Here's some pics of Roo. Stitch is hiding in the forsythia so I haven't gotten any of her yet.

I haven't posted pics of our ducks in a long time, if ever, so here's some video of them playing today.

Ginger staring at the ducks while they play...

With all this turkey talk I thought it was "interesting" timing when I found this online:

I'm not sure I want to know what's going on though...

One another note, looks pretty dark to north again...Hopefully no one's getting rained out again.

That will be me in the next few hours. I stayed up WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too late last night and am really feeling it today ughhhh

I was looking online at the the spca that is closest to me and nearly every review was about how the staff were rude, not appreciative of donations people dropped off for the animals, not helpful & didn't seem to overly care about the animals there.

I am waiting to see if the relatives come over to the house nextdoor today to mow - if they do I will be having a chat with them re the cats and horses, it will be polite yet blunt and to the point as they have had months now to do something with the animals and just keep stuffing around instead. I'll be making them aware that fireworks will be let off on the 4th and not just by us so it will be in their best interest to rehome the horses so they don't get out and cause an accident.

I still can't get over the fact the old lady said we shouldn't be letting off fireworks, well if that's how she feels she can start paying rent here and THEN tell us what to do.

The whole thing is wrong, and you shouldn't even have to explain that you will be setting off fireworks. And I feel bad for those poor horses. I only go away a few days at a time to see my family, and IT IS NEVER ON 4TH OF JULY because I could not bear to leave my animals with all the scary noises around. and when I do leave, I pay someone I am close with and trust to come no less than twice a day to (at least 3 or 4 in summer when its hot) to check in on them. And it's always someone that will treat them like I do!! My fainting goats need their kisses on the nose before bed, and if someone is not interested in interacting with seriously loving care, they are not hired. Those poor babies need someone to love them!
And I can understand how frustrated the people running animal shelters must be, but I have had some real bad experiences and just don't trust them a lot anymore:( If I win the lottery, I am opening my own.

You are truly amazing!!!!

Thanks Galgo! You make me feel good! I just like doing crafty stuff. Wanna see? Here is the fruit baby I made for the baby shower.

Oh, and here is the diaper cake I made for a gift.

It's about 90 diapers and all the little decorations are baby things the mommy will need or toys.

Something I just thought of that I want to ask. Can EE bantams come from a LF hen? My two EE girls (Fudge and Ripple) are about the same size as the Bantam Orps in the picture with Roo, but their clutch mate Butterfinger is about the same size as my 13 week old leghorns and the other birds from my buying spree in April. I checked with the person I got them from and she does not have any bantam EEs but some of her stock does have bantam in the past. Never mind just answered my own question...yep my Polish is showing today

Those are just awesome!!! I love the diaper cake idea!

Trying to make my centerpieces for the wedding right now, I'll try to post a pic once I get one done. Hopefully they turn out the way I'm envisioning them...
