humm...green toes....well, the alternatives are poly. paint , or more rugs....maybe you should not make a decision and let things be for a week......my two cents....
This has happened with us more than once, we take a rake or broom to extend our reach, get on a ladder and push them....OR a long stick and poke up through the run to 'encourage' them to get down.I just went out and my leghorn rooster and hen are on topof the coop roof and won't come down. I had no choice but to lock the run up and leave themthe rest of the hens are inside. I smell skunk so maybe they are the reason it sprayed and they are hiding? I will be heartbroken if something happens to them. I can't reach them and nothing is working to lure them down.
I know you're disappointed, but I think it looks kinda cool. I agree with STAKE, this is the kind of decision you should sit on for a while. LISA: awesome veggies! We are just back from a few days away. 2 of my pullets are near death. They were in different pens, neither very high in the pecking order. My son thinks the heat got to them. We have them isolated, pushed fluids and my daughter was hand feeding them. I'm a bit shocked that they ate. Separating them from their pens seemed to get each of them to rally. Both pullets seem pretty underweight. I think either they aren't being allowed to the food and water, or I have a bug thing going on that I'm not seeing. I had someone staying here who is pretty sharp and on top of things. Also had DD#2 stopping in each afternoon and checking water. This really stresses me out.
not yet...............I have been temporarily detoured.................remember I mentioned that I tripped over a cinder block last week................well it really hurts and is not healing as well as I thought it should..............went to the urgent care center yesterday...............and they said it was infected.............so I got a tetanus shot and some antibiotics.hey, any chooks yet???
I am sorry to hear about your pullets...................maybe todays cooler weather and tomorrows will help............along with your TLC? Hoping they will rally...........This has happened with us more than once, we take a rake or broom to extend our reach, get on a ladder and push them....OR a long stick and poke up through the run to 'encourage' them to get down.

I would. I don't have anything to bring but would there be hens I could buy? I only have 2 chickens so far & am looking to add a few more.
