Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I just went out and my leghorn rooster and hen are on topof the coop roof and won't come down. I had no choice but to lock the run up and leave them :( the rest of the hens are inside. I smell skunk so maybe they are the reason it sprayed and they are hiding? I will be heartbroken if something happens to them. I can't reach them and nothing is working to lure them down.
This has happened with us more than once, we take a rake or broom to extend our reach, get on a ladder and push them....OR a long stick and poke up through the run to 'encourage' them to get down.
The beautiful floor we all liked so much isn't what I thought it was.:barnie It is a floor with various colored beams, and painted on the outer edge, then fake wood flooring all around the border of the room.
I know you're disappointed, but I think it looks kinda cool. I agree with STAKE, this is the kind of decision you should sit on for a while. LISA: awesome veggies! We are just back from a few days away. 2 of my pullets are near death. They were in different pens, neither very high in the pecking order. My son thinks the heat got to them. We have them isolated, pushed fluids and my daughter was hand feeding them. I'm a bit shocked that they ate. Separating them from their pens seemed to get each of them to rally. Both pullets seem pretty underweight. I think either they aren't being allowed to the food and water, or I have a bug thing going on that I'm not seeing. I had someone staying here who is pretty sharp and on top of things. Also had DD#2 stopping in each afternoon and checking water. This really stresses me out.

hey, any chooks yet???
not yet...............I have been temporarily detoured.................remember I mentioned that I tripped over a cinder block last week................well it really hurts and is not healing as well as I thought it should..............went to the urgent care center yesterday...............and they said it was infected.............so I got a tetanus shot and some antibiotics.

with work and this new limitation..........I still have not finished the run................I might get them Saturday or in another week. I have 2 birds waiting for me and one or two waiting to get just a little older............

I am also hoping that my shin heals up nice...........I don't want to get any chicken germs near this..............

its a little set back...............but it gives me time to work on stuff too........................I did get all but one latch put on the coop.

Easter Egger and New Hampshire have been purchased and await my pickup.
I would like one maybe two more so its more of a group------yet still small.

stay tuned!

I am sorry to hear about your pullets...................maybe todays cooler weather and tomorrows will help............along with your TLC? Hoping they will rally...........

I knew someone was going to notice my toes. How emberassing. I got the patterned rug back down, and the furniture back in the room. The sleeper sofa is supposedly from the fifties or sixties, and heavy as heck! The living room is staying that way for a while!
The bathroom is the carpet that I have been wanting to get to no matter what I found. I pulled it back quite a bit a few minutes ago. All I see is linoleum!! The bathroom wasn't built until the sixties.
