LilMiss Purdy, WOW!! I really need to get canning! Thank you for the motivation.

This Morning:

Chooks cleaning up where the hog pen was…NO…they haven't been processed yet,

they are about a month overdue and tipping the scales around 300lbs.

This sunflower reminded me how I feel sending the kids back to school.

wow...a pair of 300lb hogs....do you process yourself or hire folks in? Seems a pretty big project one way or the other......

" It's the most, wonderful time of the year".....loved that staples commercial!

It was terrible -_- . I don't like people.
Oh NO! We've all had days like this....at least I know I have. Sending you hugs and hoping you've settled yourself outside in this beautiful weather with a beverage and your chooks.

Stake. These hogs were supposed to be a part of a 4H project, shown and sold for process in early August, it's a pretty sweet deal where they send a trailer, help you load your hogs, ect... But apparently that is way too organized and simple for the DeFilippo clan, we like to go about things the hard way.

You're too nice!!!

I actually shared a granola bar with them after I got home, and it brightened my day. But not really looking forward to tomorrow! Hopefully it'll be better!

Hi all...now that the weather is going to start getting cooler I wanted to see what others were doing to keep their chickens warm. Are your coops insulated? Mine is not. I was wondering how necessary it would be or is there another way for them to stay warm? I'm definitely willing to insulate but I wanted to find out what others in PA were doing, first. Thanks!
