....as with any "high-end" model....there will be maintenance

Hey now, are implying I'm a "lower end" model since I admit to requiring less maintenance?!?!?!? Although during pregnancy I had to have taco bell just before they closed nearly every night...does that raise my maintenance level to moderate?

I am NO EXPERT

but my chickens have enjoyed melons when it was hot...........watermelon, cantelope,

they have enjoyed chopped up small apples and pears
cucumbers, raisins,

I mix rolled oats in their feed sometimes.

They loved their crumbles mixed with applesauce.............

they like grapes cut up smaller for them.............

they didn't really touch the shredded carrots I offered or even some broccoli.............although I have heard that some peoples chickens have enjoyed these items.....also tomatoes and green peppers ---they just seemed less interested............

they ate a bit of rice too..........

I heard that pumpkins are good for them too......................I have to find some lower cost pumpkins...............I think I read the seeds help as a natural dewormer...............

I offered scrambled eggs one day..........and they didn't seem interested...............

that's my report so far!

Very true we are lol. I just had to bust yer chops lol. It was taco bell, corn on the cob (had to be on the cob), watermelon and liver for me. I limited the liver since it's an organ, but the other three things (and some kind of beef) were almost several times daily. Thankfully most of my pregnancy was during summer so most fresh stuff was easy to come by. I didn't have any of those weird cravings I always heard about, my mom craved swisher sweets cigars (to smoke not eat) although she'll deny it since she doesn't smoke anymore, but I caught her smoking my dad's more than once.

Hi People,
I lurk more than post these days, but I wanted to put this out there...one of the deadliest E. coli outbreaks ever was from unpasteurized apple cider...seems deer feces is a big problem; if fallen apples or apples mouthed by deer get in the batch, they multiply like crazy on the sugar from the apples. Be careful out there and trust your sources.

X2 My chooks have a 'field day' in manure, but I believe they are searching out the maggots. Woo Hooo!! Pics please! and if you are a grand mom? Welcome! Chester County here. Dang! Thought you were giving the recipe for Applejack here.
Since you asked.....I do small batches From your beer supply store get a :1gal jug, rubber stopper, and a CO2 thingy...(plastic thing on top), and yeast (I have been using Red Star Champagne) From the grocery store: 1gal of Motts Apple juice (make sure the preservative is Vitamin C based not the other stuff(will kill the yeast) and some brown sugar (or white) 1. the package of yeast is made for 5 gallon batches...use 1/5 2. different yeasts like different temps the type I mentioned works well 60-70 degrees...(some yeasts like is colder and take longer) 3. you will need about 10 swing top bottles if you want it carbonated(grolch SP beer is the best alternative and a good excuse to buy beer) 4. mix the yeast with a bit of warm water to get it started... 5. dissolve 1/2 cup sugar (using the apple juice) in the jug and add rest of juice to jug then add the yeast to jug put the rubber stopper in and the CO2 thingy..(a bit of water is needed for the CO2) 6. put the jug away for 5 days....tic toc 7. On day 5, fill your swing top bottles and put away for two more days (I am experimenting with adding a bit apple juice here to get a sweet finish) 8. I strongly suggest using a funnel in all procedures as keeping things clean counts 9. On day 7, refrigerate to stop the process 10. Want to try this on real cider...but have had to make due with Motts...PS the last swig is all yeast... The costs: rubber stopper and CO2= $2, Jug=$6, yeast=$1.50 and Motts $4.50
Thanks! Yer the best!

Well that's kind of unsettling. :/

Wing, are you covering up the scars, or are they causing you pain?

Here is another idea.  Like Diane said ll bean, bass, and lands end have pretty nice stuff.  Expensive, check out thrift stores.

My mom needs pants and jeans in tall, and have a higher rise.  She gets them from here too:  http://www.countryoutfitter.com/   She gets carhardt and dickies.  I am pretty sure they have petites too.

I hope you can find something.  Otherwise you can just stay home and run around in your undies!!!!

What? We have to stay home to run around in our undies? Is this a new rule?

And gentlemen....I challenge you to take care of a sick man for only ONE day, then we'll talk about who is high maintenance.

Deer feces are officially off the dinner menu. Someone needs to tell my Yorkie.

Lmao, the men around here should read this and my dogs too! ETA: by round here I mean my house not the thread

I saw about it (Odwalla that I mentioned earlier) years ago on something detectives on discovery. The workers were picking them up off the ground because they were paid by the amount they picked, not by the hour. Nearly everyone who died was a child or had a weakened immune system (like the elderly). The second deadliest (if I remember correctly) was due to fresh parsley that was contaminated by human waste at the field where it was grown in Mexico.
The Odwalla incident is why it's so hard to find fresh juice and if you can it has a disclaimer/warning on it. Same with raw milk, although to be honest it should be common sense. But I won't get into my feelings regarding common sense and todays society...

Some people are strange when it comes to eggs. My mom has 8 siblings and none of them will take my eggs. They all think my eggs have "diseases" and every time I get a little sick or something they always say "must be those eggs you've been eating". My mom was like this too until recently. Funny thing is they all eat eggs from a caged hen farm which are probably more disease prone lol
