WAIT WHAAT? Stores have chicks this late in the year??

ps stake- what do you use the dry yeast for with your chooks?

Hello Folks,
For those of you in SE PA, where do your get your feed, etc? I am in Delaware County and will be getting chickens for the first time in a couple weeks. Thanks!

I'll second Stakes' recommendation for Tobin's feed and seed. That said, Delchester Discount Feed on MacDade Blvd in Glenolden usually has a few sacs lying around, and said they'd be willing to order.

Where in Delco are you located?

Seriously? It's a bit late in the season isn't it? When I was up there last month, they said they were done...

I was just at Pickering today....a good spot...two blocks from RT100&RT113...just checked...there is an agway....right off RT202 go figure....

The Agway on 202 is nice. A decent garden center. Last time I was there, they didn't have any chicken feed, (maybe just ran out?) but we went home with another hanging waterer, and a pair of feeders, so clearly they carry the equipment.

Also for you gardening types, this is cheapest place I've found that carries bulk Vermiculite. 25lb sack of the stuff, which given it's density is quite a bit larger than I expected.

Stake-----------your chicks looks soooo cute..............awesome!

You are really advancing in your chicken raising adventures! lots of hens...............2 roosters.............and now chicks hatched in your yard! so cool!

I imagine you are enjoying this new hobby.....

Hey everyone-----------I just want to check with all you chicken experts on here! ------I have told several friends etc........that my chickens will likely LOVE to eat the parts of the pumpkin that they will be throwing away --------------you know the insides-----------the pumpkin guts and seeds..............

Many people just carve their jack o lanterns and throw away all the stuff inside of the pumpkin.............

so I told them that if they wanted to save the pumpkin guts and seeds in a ziplock bag and freeze it.............I would love to then share it with my chickens.

There isn't anything wrong with this................right?

My chickens wont overdose or somehow have some pumpkin related ailment.............right?

If a few people do this then I will have a few pumpkin frozen packages that I can thaw and serve over the next few weeks........................

What do you all think?
