Howdy from Chester Co....where are you located...most likely sombody is near you with chicks to sell/swap....

I am located in Fayette County Pa...I haven't any clue who might be close enough to swap the or to purchase off of! I even have lots of fertile buff Orpington eggs, all 5 of the girls lay daily!

After cleaning off the coops and getting all the birdies situated with things to do. AND of course chasing the dogs all over God's creation. I am now dripping wet next to the fire... and they are napping.

now there's a meat chicken

HA HA! I aint coming to help pluck that one!

HA! OMGoodness huge CCL egg, I guess I will have to attempt a hatch, HUGENESS this pic does NOT do it justice....

That hen is like "I CANT BELIEVE YOU WOULD TAKE THAT AFTER I DELIVERED IT!)

STILL SNOWING and now BLOWING!!! but it musta blew snow off my roof as I have internet again!!

I am a little worried..............

today might be the day when my picnic tarp crashes down...............with all the heavy wet snow on top.......

and it is already beaten down from all this years weather............has some tears in it.........and its bending down

I am afraid to try to take the snow off myself and cause the rupture................time will tell!

If It goes down----I just hope no chickens are underneath and

then also what will I do for a roof until spring.......................oh no...................

Get out there with the broom and clear it off. You're better off choosing when the snow comes down than letting it choose for you!

If the existing material rips, just drape another tarp over the frame. It'll hold, and spring isn't that far away. At least that's what I keep telling myself...

Well Liz-----that is exactly what I thought I should do as well...................yet I think as I was typing my worries the whole thing imploded! so I just came in from a excavation!

The snow storms have really taken a toll on this tarp----and I have been removing snow from the top and the roofs etc..........and some rips were sustained yet it was still functional...........today when I went out to feed the chickens it was looking very bad though............I knew it was inevitable........

Now I have ripped the remaining tarp off the frame and unfortunately I think the frame is seriously damaged as well.

After I get the walkways and driveway cleared...............which is gonna take awhile...........then I need to construct a new outdoor area for the girls.

I have some ideas and will post later. One idea includes using a shipping crate that good ole Stake brought to me!

stay tuned!

luckily I think other than being scared silly----the girls seem okay and are very very content to stay inside their safe coop!
