Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I have a broody in action. She pulled a false alarm before so I won't hold my breath.

And my new ducks from HeatherScooby:) thanks Heather, they are getting along with everyone.

Does TSC sell meaties?

Yep, and usually cheaper than the hatchery.

I will assume I cant grab them cause of npip :(

Hatcheries are npip as are any chicks from tsc, or any feed store that gets hatchery chicks. Just ask which hatchery they get from. I do meaties. My npip tester doesn't even test them if they are penned separate from the rest of the birds.

that's what I thought but I wasn't sure, and since they are processed so young they do not get tested

Right, because they have to be 14 wks old to test.

I see you just added the link, MC.

Kiomey, is Betty a blue wyandotte?

I'm having a bit of a dilemma picking the breed that I want in spring. DP said that I could get a hen and my sister could get a hen. We'll hatch them and then keep a pullet from each batch. I wanted a mottled bantam cochin but I'm not sure I want one of those anymore. I have some criteria:

-no bantams
-single comb
-clean legged
-big,classic, hen
-good egg producer
-docile, but with personality
-able to be shown easily
-comes in blue (I really want a blue chicken)

I was thinking blue marans. What do you guys think?

Blue or lavender orpington would also fit those criteria
