Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Thank you Blarney.... I had a broken/lost filling repaired last week, I love my dentist (25 years going to him) but I had more pain after getting that done than I've ever had from a dental procedure before, including when he took out my wisdom teeth (in the office)... I can't work when taking anything stronger than Tylenol, and the antibiotics didn't change anything, so not an infection causing the problem. So get to go in this afternoon for either an extraction or root canal. At this point I don't care what he does as long as it quits!
Welcome to our little corner of the site! I'm too far away to help but there are quite a few folks in your neck of the woods, I'm sure someone will be able to give you some direction soon!
hope he can fix it, feel better

Ok, it's near the end of May. ..I shouldn't still need a coat! I'm at my son's baseball game and I actually had to go sit in the car even though I have a jacket on since I can't feel my fingers and toes! Now i may be one of those people that are always cold bit this is pushing it. Grrr!

rant over

in lighter news, we got some Carrots planted today in an old wheel barrow bucket lol. Our onions area growing like crazy and more seedlings are showing up each day (corn, broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, spinach) :) I'm still trying to figure out where to plant the pumpkins, zucchini, and water melon though.

Love the variation in this state. I've been working outside since 7:30 in a T-shirt. Shorts most of the day, bare feet when I can. Just started to cool down enough to put on a shirt at 7 tonight.

Gotta live PA weather!

To Henny Penny Mom in Adams county PA. I live in Carlisle in Cumberland county. They have Americaunas at Carlisle Country Living (Agway). They where a week old on Wed. I bought 3 last week and they are growing like crazy. They still had this morning. They open at 8:00am tomorrow. Phone 717-243-4312, Carlisle is not far away from Adams county. I go to Biglerville a lot at that takes about 20 to 30 min.

I currently have no drivable vehicle & no license. Current neighbors are so stuck up & self centered it's not even funny. In the past 5 months, I managed to get 1 to take me to the store ONCE & another to take me to the feed mill ONCE. That's even with giving them gas money & waiting on their schedule. There are 9 houses on my 3/8 mile long driveway & half of them are related & none of them like any of the others. The only 1 who even talks to me is the married 1 who keeps trying to get me to visit him while his wife is at work. Do I have "stupid" stamped on my forehead???
My grandparents, several aunts & uncles and a bunch of cousins are all within 15 miles of where I'm moving to & the landlord is my 3rd cousin, which we didn't know until we started talking & mentioned the grandparents' last name. He graduated with my little brother & didn't realize they were related...lol
boy, you must have moved close to a bunch of real snobs, my husband and i go out of our way to help neighbors, well, if they weren't real snobs(nice name for her, i usually call her something else) like the ones on the hills, her i wouldn't throw a bucket of water on if she was dying of thirst lol, it will be nice to move for you so you can have some help.

Has anyone else in the area had problems with pine shavings? In the winter I couldn't find them anywhere and had to go with aspen shavings which are a bit more costly, but worked alright. Today I bought Irving's pine shaving which are usually the best type, but I opened the bag and it's legit sawdust. I double checked the bag, and it does say pine shavings

60 people in the whole country is nothing. Humans need to toughen up there immune systems.
Most live and act like Howie Mandel. Too bad it wasn't something deadly to cull the herd!

Sorry I have not figured this forum out yet. I'm not used to an endless thread with 100 different topics.
This was about the CDC warning that 60 people in the whole country have gotten salmonella from Frenching there chickens.
I should have clicked Quote instead of Reply.

Now it makes sense

I agree that the story was too sensationalized and if more folks used common sense there would be a lot less worrying needed. But in this day and age it seems that common sense and personal responsibility are getting to be more the exception than the norm....

yup. I mean... people keeping chicks in their kitchen? It would be more of a miracle if they didn't get sick.
