PLEASE keep me posted on this, pictures would be great..... we plan on something similar in the future. Would also like to do a tank of minnow for the ducks. Just can not figure out the issue of temperature control in an outside building without a bunch of expensive heaters

I would think something like a tank surrounded by black painted gallon jugs filled with water might work. I have seen this used around other structures to provide passive solar heat.

Blarney, fingers and toes crossed for Bella.. my newfoundland used to wander and sleep in very heavy wooded area's. Hope that is he case with Bella.

Need some idea's for a one person Thanksgiving. Just found out hubby will be working noon till 10. .. I will most likely pull a split chicken out f freezer and just have that for dinner...

Mis calculated feed needed from mill.. heading out shortly to tsc to pick up enough to last till Monday....wish me luck

I've spent many Thanksgiving alone. Mt. Joy dinner serves a decent one, but the church in the middle of town is a great place to go. Many nice people and all you can eat. You can even get a meal to go for hubby. And free, no questions asked, no offering taken, just a friendly atmosphere. Family style, a lot of people make it a tradition. Seriously, think about it, they are very welcoming. (I won't be there this year)

So Bella was right under our noses, locked in the main chicken run. DH: 'what an idiot! She stayed in the run?'. I'm not entirely sure who the idiot is in this scenario, but if am completely sure that Bella did NOT lock herself in...'

So glad to have my polar bear back.

I know dogs...Bella will never run off....glad she's been 'found'....I'm sure she was disturbed not to be allowed to patrol the property...and I'm sure she want to bond with you and your family....

On the lionel front, thats the trains I grew up on and have now....geez maybe a Ridley Park thing.......

Four of the girls were in the coop when I went out to put them to bed!

At first I freaked out thinking they'd gotten out somehow. I couldn't see them without getting the flashlight out to do a head count. And I had to come back in the house to get my glasses. Good Girls!

For sale: two 5-month old call drakes. I have too many boys. They're very nice, passive little guys. And they're super cute. I don't know if the brown one is grey or snowy, he still needs to feather out. I think grey, but he has a snowy looking breast.

Really needing a white hen, would love to trade or cash is fine. Just make an offer

No one's interested? Takin them to a swap Sunday. I'd much rather have them go to someone I kinda know.

Omg! I know the problems with ducks, and not ready to eat their meat or eggs. I managed to stay away from them. You, little girl... You have the cutest ducks I have ever seen!! I would be there to buy them today if I were home! So cute!!!!

My ducks are my favorite, and the parents said I need to sell two boys if I wanted two girls. I really wanted grey babies, but I like Tuck more than the newer grey and black ones, and I wouldn't sell Chuck for a million dollars.

The truck needed to go into the shop. No dogs are allowed in the buildings. Dh stood outside with Sturgis from five to six-thirty yesterday morning. Finally was told where the dog cage was. Sturgis was outside for eight hours in a cage with no shelter. It even rained. The high was 35* with a -7* windchill. That is animal abuse. I finally got dh to demand the company allow us to get a motel. They fought us, but we finally went. Sturgis passed out as soon as we got to the motel.
It is one thing for this company to be against pets in the truck. It is another to force us to leave an animal outside in the elements for the sixteen hours it took to fix the truck.

That's literally so awful. I would have either layed my jacket over the top of the cage or brought him in anyway.
