We are heading to the Vet's with the latest stray DH befriended. Poor thing showed up during the 5¤ cold snap we had and we didn't have the heart to chase her off. Not her fault someone was an a**hole and dropped her off when she wasn't a cute kitty anymore. She is going for shots and a spay so even if she chooses to stray she will be relatively healthy and not adding to the population.

How beautiful.. :thumbsup

I rather eat "natural meat" that I have raised knowing it had a great life and is free of all of whatever goes into supermarket meat. I wish I could raise more types of meat to eat. I have done our turkeys and chickens and we are starting on tilapia.

It is really sad people don't understand where their food comes from. Sometimes when people ask what I do with extra chicks that hatch if I can't sell them. Sometimes I am afraid to say I will eat the roosters and sell the hens. People give you the strangest looks when you say you eat the roosters. I tell them they had great lives living outside eating bugs and having happy chicken lives but they think it is strange or nasty. I tell them its the best tasting meat that you can ever have, so tender and tasty.

Thanks, I just did not trust my memory, no matter how many times I do these things I find my self looking in the book to be sure, unfortunately I can not find it this time.
I have some boys resting in my fridge that need to go to camp, seemed like a good day for it.

I think you are correct with everything you listed above. Although the new books don't list raw pack, at least mine didn't.

Are you asking for suggestions? Quail, rabbit come to mind. Some people like goat, too.
