Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Gotta vent for a second lol. I love Christmas, the joy, love, hope, and beauty of the season but I'm feeling so overwhelmed this season! I managed today to pull all the kids' stuff out of the gun safe today which I had neatly puzzle pieced inside of to the point where there was not a single spot for more in it and laid it all out. We thought that our shopping this morning finished off everything. Then we realized that one kid has more than the other and we forgot our nephews. So now there's more we have to get. Next week is the last week of school for the kids for the year so I have to get everything wrapped, while finishing shopping, while keeping everything hidden (once it's wrapped, there's no way is getting back in the gun safe). On top of that, the order I placed on amazon today for an art table for my daughter was accidentally put in for the wrong color so it had to be canceled and reordered. Now, both kids were selected to supply something for their classroom Christmas parties next week. Brendon wants to bring candy cane sleighs which means I have to glue together 22 of these things (they're really cute though) and get them to the school without breaking them. Katelyn is easy, she needs to bring paper plates and napkins BUT they're celebrating her birthday in school the day before the party since her birthday lies over Christmas break so I need to get cupcakes ordered to take in on that day and birthday party invitations filled out and sent to school. A breather would be nice lol. We still need to find Brendon a Christmas present to take to school for a gift swap and now Katelyn says she's supposed to bring in something to fill everyone's stockings in class this week. Both kids need gifts to swap for their bible school Christmas party next weekend. Then we have crazy Christmas with drives to Dubois on Christmas eve and then to Altoona Christmas day! GAAAAAAA!!! Two days after Christmas, YAY! A birthday party to get together. All the while, hubby will be working double shifts next week so he'll be sleeping whenever he's home so it's all me. I love Christmas, but I'm about ready for it to be over lol. Sorry about the rant. I feel a little better now lol.

Wow!  With a schedule like that I would be doing more than just venting!  :th

Take a deep breathe, Mama. I agree with Fisherlady, a glass of wine is in order.

The Polar Bear dog is a Great Pyrenees, I almost killed her a few weeks ago. I had a goat doe loaded in my car to take to the breeder and Bella, my Great Pyr parked herself right up against my car wheel while I was sitting in the car making last minute arrangements for my goat's 'date'. I'm sure Bella was reacting to my goats hollering and put herself as close to the car as possible. I had no idea she was there and pulled my car on top of her, something didn't feel right and I jumped out of the car to see my beautiful Bell, car tire parked on her neck. It was at this point that I completely lost my mind. Somehow I climbed back in the car, reversed off of her and managed to put the car in park again. Bella took off like a shot and ran off into the woods, we spent the entire 20 degree day stumbling around the woods searching for her into the night. I was sure that I killed her. She was back the next day mid morning, a chunk of fur missing from her head, took her to the vet and she's got some damage in her neck, trouble swallowing and inflammation. Her fur hasn't grown back on her head so above her left eyebrow a bit of her skull shows.

This girl is very special to me, she's 'my' dog and prefers me. All other dogs have preferred my husband as the Italian in him demands that he feed the world, the dogs are no exception, he is never without a treat in his pocket. Bella is not bought so easy, she walks the perimeter with me and responds to the attention I give her. I don't know if I could have lived with the burden of killing her. I am so glad that she survived.

I am so glad it turned out with a happy ending.

We should have Matans and OEs in the spring. :thumbsup

Our first group of chicks to reestablish our flocks are due to hatch on Monday. I locked down this morning, 5 are developed. I just love BLRW chicks, they are especially adorable in my mind.

I thought you had to wait a bit, or do you just relocate them to a different area?

:barnie. My broody's sister had to lay her egg in the same box, the the broody was kicked out right in front of the box, along with her eggs. One of them was cold. I don't know how they will hatch now. I will definitely be separating her next time. For sure! I will be amazed if any of them hatch.

Aurora, time for a dollar store run!

Anyone else wake up to 1.5 ft of snow and a half inch of ice on top of that? It was insane the car had ice ALL over. It took like 20 minutes to take the ice off the windows!
geesh...not here...we have flurries off & on, but that is normal..lake-affect, sometimes accumulates into a few inches throughout the day,...sorry you had to wake to that, be careful out there!!
