Funny story. My regular customers for eggs didn't get intouch with me last week so I posted my eggs for sale on Facebook. WIthin 3 minutes all were spoken for!

The one customer said I will take them all, I thought you said you wouldn't have any more eggs. The last time she ordered I told her the chickens are slowing down and I wouldn't be able to have big orders over the winter. I explained to her about molt and the decrease in day light hours meant less eggs.

The customer said that she is so happy to get the eggs because she ran out and had to buy regular store bought eggs and her son refused to eat them. He took a bite out of his egg sandwich and spit it out saying it was horrible and he wanted the fresh eggs. She didn't tell him that they were store bought eggs but he tasted the difference.

She got home and told her son she had real eggs again and he was so happy he wanted an egg sandwich for dinner. She texted me how happy her son was to have real eggs again! Sounds like I have a happy customer.

I'm exhausted. I got all the Christmas shopping done (just finished off with the animals' stuff this morning lol) and ALL the kids'stuff is all wrapped and hidden. YES! No time to relax though. I need to wrap my parents stuff, inlaws, and nephew's stuff still but the kids will help with that stuff. I'm feeling relieved to get that done. All christmas cards are mailed, birthday invitations out, kids christmas parties are done. I'm feeling accomplished. Much better than last week when I was freaking out lol

Raise your hand if you're an egg snob like me. :frow

Warning gross subject, if bothered by that, please do not read..

With processing on a regular basis of about 40 per week, I am accumulating a mass of innards that people do not want. I can only eat so many.
I watch the cat's take off with heads out of the bucket, so could I freeze some of these and feed to the cat's on a regular schedule along with the innards.
Wouldn't this be what would get fed for a raw diet anyway

Wing:

My understanding is that all canned cat food is 'uncooked'...dog food is....it is suggested not to feed dog food to cats and the reverse....

I don't eat them, but chicken livers are sold, could be a market for that, and you should be able to cook down the 'sweet meats' to broth then feed the 'spent' meats to the critters...
My two cents....

Funny thing is I don't eat eggs. My customer said she doesn't know if there is a taste difference because she doesn't eat eggs and I told her I don't either lol

Bgirl:

Duh!, you raise chickens and don't eat eggs??? is it a preference thing or 'medical'......I have heard of a family that raised chooks and were vegans...gave the eggs to their neighbors....who knows what floats the boat....
