Rant. Rant. Rant

Frustrated today, can not get anything open without a struggle today.
Older people do not lose weight because they forget to eat... It has to be cause they give up trying to open things..
And I could not get ahold of CC, his phone went straight to voice mail.. gonna swing out that way later.

Rant over......

I hear you on the opening things!

Hope it is just CC's work schedule...

:thumbsup ..with the popularity with backyard flocks, I am surprised they don't/didn't have someone or something there to promote this...i am sure there are tons of people interested & would have welcomed the information..would have been a great opportunity to help promote good animal husbandry and all that- that entails.
I am glad to hear you enjoyed your trip. I am very excited for the trip tomorrow with LadyBehir..will be a two for one day..meeting Maggie & going to the show:highfive:

It was a very cold morning..wow, hurt my foot stomping out the water bowl..geesh that ice was thick!! Even the girls didn't want to come out..so i put the food bowl in with them..they aren't spoiled or anything:rolleyes: ...no, i guess spoiling would be to bring them in the house with these temps...:p

lol since it's started to get really cold, I've been putting one bowl in the coop with them and one outside for whoever braves it lol. Seems like the young ones are hanging out inside the most and the older ones aren't afraid to go outside. Then again, my "older"ones are only 11 months old lol.

My 14 week olds are driving me crazy! They absolutely LOVE the nest boxes and the fact that they have straw in them. They keep going in them and scratching and digging all around. Did I mention POOPING ALL THROUGH THEM! GAAAAAA!! I miss collecting eggs and getting nice clean ones. I'm at the point where the next time I clean out the straw, I'm just putting wood shavings in them so there's nothing fascinating about them anymore. Then, when they decide to hang out on the edges of them during the day (they think they're daytime roosts) and get poop in them, I can just scoop it out and onto the main coop floor and refill them.

As soon as there's a good day that's not TOO cold, since I don't handle the cold well, I'm going to go out and take the divider out of the middle of the seperation coop and move my extra roos over there. I have 5 for sure. A couple I'm not certain of yet. First warm day in March we should be processing. Time to start distancing myself a little more and free up some room in the main coop.

Just fired the Excalibur again. Completely full today with apples, the last of our Asian Pears, our last persimmon and a couple handfuls of grapes.
400

I'm dying to get a cabinet dehydrator. We just have one of those tabletop ones but we have about 10 trays for it. It's a pain to get it out, put it away, get it out, put it away lol.

I tried a friend's Brinsea incubator last spring and fell in love. It's awesome. Not getting one this year because I wanted to try some new breeds. I bought 75 chicks total from 2 different hatcheries. No self restraint! Brinsea will have to wait til next year.

you have a good plan..you will be fine..helps when they don't get names..after all is said and done, they will look just like you went grocery shopping, but only so much better, for them & you.
