I like the rainbow. I want every color possible.

Sometime wing and you have an egg swap going, I'll have to throw in some eggs. Random combinations of blue, black, and lemon. The blue and yellow are interesting, but I never keep them, but this year I'll probably keep some in my layer pen, most of that pen are three years old, time to refresh.

Cool! I'm actually going to be looking to fill a new cabinet bator in a few weeks & was already talking to wing about getting eggs. I like all colors in shells & feathers both.

Hi everyone!
I know I have been MIA but I am still alive and kicking. ;) The new addition has been keeping me pretty busy. She is almost a year old and starting to walk. Yikes! I am down to 10 layers and no roo but am preparing things for over 2 dozen chicks! Even toying with the idea of guineas. Just hoping our close neighbors wouldn't mind. I will have to post some pics once i get the new coop and brooder up and going. Hope everyone else is doing well!!

I would like to buy some blue/green colored eggs to put in my incubator. Any suggestions? Need to be cold hardy and friendly.

I can attest that CCL Roos will loose their combs to frostbite...but, alot of my birds are going to loose a bit, and the CCL is a bit expensive/exotic....if you want to breed, go the extra mile and get the americuna(sp). The one Americuana I have (a rehome from FlowerFairy), weathered the winter great. I think if you do the EE's, they are mixed breeds and you can't breed more EE's from EE's (anybody, feel free to correct me...as that is my understandings)....my two cents....

Why do people always want buff orpingtons when there are so many other beautiful colors? Just curious, I love the blues and blacks, and the partridge are beautiful as well.

The only thing I can think is a negative about a buff orp is that the yellow stands out too much....lost two this past 6mos to preditors....I kinda like the yellow its a nice contrast...maybe I'll we'll be able to work something out for some lemon orps....(need to find something to swap with you.....)

I no longer have any pie colors. Only lemon I have is my rooster. He covers BBS. Hence my mixed color birds. I house the black yellow spearwort, seeing if they will breed true.
