Question for those of you who sell hatching eggs. I put an ad on Craigslist to see if anyone is interested. The birds would be mixed breeds since they are all housed together. I have a few people who are interested but the one guy wants to know if I guarantee fertility. My last hatch was very successful (under a broody) all of them hatched but one chick died. I donated some of my eggs to the local school and so far all but one has veining. I'm only selling them for $9 a dozen. Thoughts on how I should handle this question?

theres no way to guarantee fertility, even to ask that question is rediculous...

If I disappear for a few days it means my data ran out on my phone. Wing & a couple others have my cell number if anyone needs me before I can get more data on my phone. I will have a crap load of chicks hatching this weekend too if anyone "needs" any.

YAY!! Got my first silkie eggs yesterday and went out this morning and got another! Now what do I do? Save them for pickled eggs, save them for her to hatch???

What are the odds of 4 (wild) baby bunnies about3 3 weeks old will survive if discovered by a mess of elementary school kids? The kids didn't hurt them, but after being picked up and chased around, the bunnies wouldn't stay in the nest when they were put back. I'm not great at telling ages of kits, but they were older than mine (mine are a little over a week), eyes open and supposedly hopping around outside the nest before they were discovered.. but they are still really small, nothing like the 8-10 week bunnies at a pet store. Considering that children play in the playground where the nest was every day and they had yet to be found, my guess is they only just started venturing out.

Are they doomed? I called the school to let them know (it was in the middle of the school playground, discovered at a PTO meeting last night). Secretary said she'd have the maintenance guy go out when he got in... but what's he going to do, move them? without the mom present? They'll be goners for sure, no?

Question, our power went out yesterday morning around 4:30. We got the generator up and running around 9 after another update from PPL that it would be several more hours until power was restored. Anyway, our incubator got down around 74 degrees before we got it plugged in and back up to temp. Are my eggs OK or did I lose the whole batch?

I wouldn't give up on them. Last year I had 2 sets of eggs in the incubator when the power failed for 3 days and the temp in the incubator got down into the 50's. Some from each set hatched, a couple of days later than scheduled, but I was surprised anything hatched.
