Hi I'm in Chester county and the first time I tried hatching chicks I did it in the winter so I got 3 males they are bantam black Cochin roo crossed with a silver sebright hen if anybody would want one I could deliver within Chester county not for food I would eat them but there to small and I kind of like them if anybody wants one I may be willing to give them up if one person wants I could give them a pair I also hatched one female she looks like a Cochin hen really close they are very protective and mean not lap chickens but good hen protectors best if go to home with no other rooster

I've tried calling them they all come over to the door and look at me like I'm crazy lol I get a few to come in but never all of them and it does get pretty hot in there during the day it's well ventilated but I'd feel uneasy about keeping them inside for very long in the heat of the day but I'll try to keep luring them in with treats if it cools down any I'll try Levin them in a few days thanks for the help =)

A rooster is the best remedy here, are you allowed roosters?

Good Day from Elverson, PA,
Looking for some White Leghorns for laying eggs. Looking to replace a great layer, after her untimely demise at the hands of a Black Lab. I will pay a premium price for 4-6 month olds in good shape.
Thank you for your help.

My broody frizzle serama brought her babies out today! I had no idea how many she had, but I knew she had 8 eggs in there. She just turned a year old and is a first time mom. She's amazing, and very protective! She wasted no time teaching them how to eat and drink, and is constantly warming them.

There are 2!

*don't mind her feathers, this is why the guineas are not here anymore, they abused her so bad*

Hoping she goes through one of those 'broody molts" and grows back some feathers!

It's so cool because this is the first time I hatched a chicken and then IT hatched chickens! I've only hatched a handful of times from my flock, and both times were from adult birds I purchased.

So sorry about the loss of your hen!

I don't have white leghorns, but some other breeds that are good layers. If you can't find a leghorn and want to try something else, let me know. I'm close to Elverson.

Oh MY Goodness! Congrats, these guys are precious.

Can I just say, 'what the heck! With this weather?' There was some craziness out there tonight :lovefor sure. When I see it coming, I get my wash done and showered as we don't know when we'll have power again. DH is not in favor of me showering during a storm, says it's dangerous. Do you all agree? Or do you think he prefers me stinky?
:sick
