Yep, I just went out and checked and sure enough, she has taken to a nest and hasn't moved. Right now, she's just sitting on a ceramic egg but I'll give her some eggs later on. I'm thinking 2 Marans and 2 rhodebars. They at least have a possibility of being purebred lol. My boys seem to prefer their own breed of girls from what I've seen though I know it's far from 100%.
Last time Cookie was broody, she kept forgetting which nest she had picked and kept ending up in different nests though she did hatch all 4 of her eggs last time. One baby got out from under her last time while she was still sitting tight waiting for the others to hatch and it was snatched up and killed by the rest of the flock. We'll see how it goes this time. I don't have a seperate place for her and get babies this time. She was an extremely protective mother last time though after her babies hatched. I ended up giving her babies to another broody when they were 2 weeks old last time because she was so violent that she was attacking the other broody's babies! I just have to make sure that I don't let anyone else hatch anything while she's playing mom.
Speaking of which, @dheltzel, Sky is still threatening to go broody lol. She screams at me if I even peek into the box while she's in there and has even been growling and puffing up anytime anyone goes near her lately lol. She must be learning from everyone around her. Even my 2 PR girls have had to be broken numerous times this summer!
