So I guess peafowl are next on the list. Spiderman (the youngster) and Batman.

Three expected to hatch is now none. I will turn on the incubator, but I just don't know.
They spent the night broody at the other end of the pen. It was warm enough that I didn't see a problem.
Now, I can see eight eggs, and they are scattered a little. The girls seemed upset still with me. But, they still seem broody. Not that I doubted it, but you never know.
So, here is to them having the eggs under them when the incubator is ready. Or, at least taking the chicks.

Oh dear! what are the new people here going to think of me? Trying some changes with the hatching process to get more Bielefelders to hatch so I have some for you. Last week, the 2 eggs that made it to lockdown both pipped. The male hatched and the female died in the shell I really think you want Welbars though. Greenfire just announced on their FB page that they will be selling Welbars in 2017. Rumor has it, for $99 a chick, which is pretty typical for a newly imported breed that (allegedly) does not exist in the US. I'm counting on them for "Legbar level" hype next year.

Haha! Sorry to let the cat out of the bag. Maybe I will talk both some Wellbars and Bieles if I have the room. I don't need chicks, if you want to get rid of some of your "older" Bieles to make room for your other projects, that's just fine by me. Thanks for all of your hard work. We put an offer in on an home. Really hope it works out. I will have plenty of room for all kinds of animals if it does we do get it. Prayers appreciated!

Today is the first day that my 3 little polish babies (along with one tiny little lone legbar pullet that I had leftover from my last hatch) and the new blue silkies are out free ranging, they're having the time of their lives but they're panting like crazy. Everyone's keeping mostly to the shade in this heat and digging nice deep holes to bathe in out in the woods. One of my turkey hens made herself a great dusting hole and was chirping and talking up a storm while she bathed lol

I miss seeing my girls dust bathe in the back yard! Soon....

Break her!?!? Don't say that! LOL Find her a couple of day old chicks and let her get it out of her system!

Cookie update: Today the big lump under her wing changed from deep purple to an ugly green, that is the 2nd picture, the top of her wing has some green too(1st picture), but there is no open holes or oozing. Is this good????? How do I know if this is a large swollen bruise, or an abscess that needs to be broken open??

That looks terrible. Poor thing. Mix have no advice other than to listen to Fisherlady. She knows her stuff! Keep us updated.

No, just moved around.

No idea why they aren't where it is dark and comfy. The picture of the eggs was just showing them in the light. They are under a box.
