I would try craigslist and pennswoods.net first if you're trying to keep them semi local. There are always people on there looking for incubators.

I still can't quite figure out this site. I don't want to reply, I have a question. I'm from Shippensburg, Pa. Are there any Bantam lovers around here? Really would like to "talk" with someone local.
Much appreciated.
Would they be good for a newbie? Hubby said I can have one and I want to get it before he changes his mind lol
What eggs are you looking for? Then we can figure out who has them. You are not all that far from me (northern Chester Co.) but I don't know if I would have the eggs you are looking for.
Both the Bielefelders and Welbars have terrible fertility (less than 25%), so I have not been offering those eggs for sale. CCL eggs I have a lot of, and they have decent fertility. I don't have any cochins. If you can work out a meet with @emorems0 then I will send some eggs back and you can see what you get.Thank you! I have been trying to find a day to drive for eggs. So this would be great! I have been interested in Bielefelder, CCL, LF Cochin, and I would love some of your Welbar , Dennis! I have some Langshan eggs that I will be getting soon, too. So, I can't fit a lot. I have an ECO 20 and I have fit 30 in there before. My second Eco 20 I use as a hatcher, but can split and do a staggered hatch.
They all look great! I really love those AC! Will have to get some soon.
Do you think you could make a turkey saddle? My Tom has been trying to mate with Notch for a few days, feathers everywhere. Today I heard her scream a little bit when he was trying it, and now I see a little blood on her shoulders. Will have to blu kote her today. Wish me luck! I may need a few extra saddles too, some of the girls are starting to look a bit bare.

Good grief. What a shame.
I know they are good incubators, but I would like to hatch larger amounts of chicks. I'm sure you will have no trouble selling it on Pennswoods or Craigslist.
Thank you!
I'm sure I could make a turkey saddle. I need to pick up more denim first though.
Update: I sent the sick chick in to PADLS for a necropsy. Initial report is aspergillosis, possibly due to mold spores in/around bedding. Lab will be running more tests just to be thorough. Lab was very helpful about answering questions. I will update with other results once I get them.
For the curious: Shipping a dead chick = $42 overnight UPS. You should buy your own styrofoam cooler or make your own box, because if your UPS is like mine, they may not have them in stock. I told them it was an animal specimen for testing, and they were thankfully understanding (and curious) but I still had to do some last minute improvising.
chicken train update
At 3:00, 8 turkey poults boarded the train and are now heading East!
Oh MY Goodness!!!! Very excited here. .e
BTW, those garlic shoots are making my mouth water. Do you ever cut some and chop them up into scrambled eggs? We do that with both the Garlic shoots and onion scapes. Although I haven't planted either this year...and good thing too, because the puppy gets into the garden regularly.
