They can free range now if they are okay. Meaning, are there other chickens to protect them? The chicks will follow the others inside too. Otherwise, you might need to guide them inside at night. A trail of treats (cracked corn usually) leading the way works.
There's a few variations, but I'm sure you can figure it out.
They do not have any other chickens they are my first chicks I have ever had

I wil lbe hatching all the turkey eggs from here on out.  I am borrowing this incubator from a friend, so I will have to give it back soon.  I will have to see how I make out with staggered hatches.

If you're using an auto turner, you can remove rows from it and section off an area to hatch in. You can use hardware cloth to make a divider, lingerie bags to hatch in, or little baskets from the dollar store (they'll need some kind of lid made for them to keep the chicks/poults from climbing out )

Wow, thank you. Sounds like you've done this before! Hopefully they will both be laying fertile eggs... The one seems to want to brood, and the other doesn't seem to be able to get get fertile eggs.

Not chicken related, but I did so much work I have to show it off. Here is the deck after it has been sanded, washed and dried, along with my assistant.

Here is the newly stained deck and painted patio. And if you look closely, you can see we had a perimeter breach and someone left a doody on the deck. It rained a bit last night and again a bit this morning, even though the forecast was originally clear. I hope the stain holds up for at least a year!

How did you guess? lol Hope you get some fertile eggs soon! My girls have dramatically dropped off. I'm getting 1 egg a day now. 2 if I'm REALLY lucky lol

8 baby turkeys hanging out in the chicken train hotel for a few days... they are much noisier than chicks. I don't think I've ever had turkeys on their own without chicks to brood with. These guys have food, water, warmth, cool and they are still peeping like crazy. I think they just want me to sit with them, lol.

How did I miss this pic?? I did cook Easter dinner yesterday and was crazy busy with that. Looking forward to meeting with you tomorrow and picking up the littles.

Sunshine and Lollipop got to play outside for a while today. They're such sweet little things :) Sunshine did actually get in and splash around for a while but I was recording at the time. The video didn't even turn out :/ They follow us everywhere. Sunshine is the most cuddly and likes to be held and snuggled. Lollipop doesn't really like to be held much. They have their own brooder now since they thought chick feathers were snacks lol.

I love this picture with the little drop falling from her bill :)
