I am honestly scared, not only for my other chickens, but for my moms tiny dog. So much for the Borough of Kennett Square being too citified for predators!Kill it, and don’t tell anyone.![]()
maybe a osprey, not an eagle and i don't see a red tail, looks kinda like a osprey that we have down south, fish hawk we call them, the ospreys are bigger than a red tail but not as big as a eagleOsprey, hawk or eagle?
I just know that it decapitated three of my girls today and was eating my legbar when I scared it--maybe 60 feet --away. It is still sitting in my cherry tree, waiting for my girls to leave the henhouse. I locked them in. All raptors are protected, I presume? I am not happy---the legbar was my son's favorite...

It’s pretty much a guarantee that Sturgis will be “crossing The Rainbow Bridge” soon.
I don’t intend to own another pet, but ... well, I’m keeping pet supplies. What I’m not keeping is; an old medium dog bed that is good enough to not toss, but more suited for on your porch for cats to nap in.
A new bag of hamster food, and some treats.
Various dog toys, and two small breed heart worm (Heartguard) chews.
I am in Clearfield County if anyone has an interest. Sturgis is not doing well, and I will have to make “the decision” within the next four weeks.
Do you know how this is torturing me he(Yes, you all do)?!

It seems that animals know when they are about to go, and suddenly seem to pick up. I guess humans do it too on occasion.
He has a few good days, but even when he seems okay, he can’t handle being picked up to be put on the couch or bed. He wheezes and pants.
If the air is off, he varies between panting heavily nonstop, to gasping for breath. The temperature is 70* when he’s doing this. Duckling has stopped complaining about being cold, because she knows that he needs it. She just gets her throw.
He’s falling and slipping around, limps on and off, is bloated (sometimes he can’t even lay on his side), coughing.
This all started pretty much the last time he was at the vet in April. Within a week anyway. Oh! He has developed lumps, and the ones I can feel in his stomach have not only multiplied, but gotten bigger. At first I thought the first lump in his stomach was just a fat deposit. Now I feel three distinct lumps.
Of course I can do more bloodwork and testing, but I just don’t see paying hundreds of dollars, up to 1,000 to do all the testing. I did that with Harley. One week, and $4,500 later, he died anyway.
“More” meaning he had tests in April.
