Four angry ducks are in the coop. I am drenched.

Crossing my fingers for you..who would shoot a duck!!!??? That is awful!
The kind of person that wouldn’t let a dying man’s brother into the house to say goodbye.
I married into a disturbed family. This stuff is not as shocking as it used to be.

Hey guys! What do you use in the coop to help it smell better? I use shavings and sand. It's not bad, just a musty smell when everything is wet, like it is now. I'm thinking something along the lines of potpourri, scented oils, a spray? I just want it to smell better lol.

One of my older girls isn't doing so well right now. I found Cleo on the ground outside the coop yesterday when I was closing up the coops which was extremely odd. She started crying as soon as she saw me and trying to flap her wings but couldn't move. It seems like her one leg just doesn't want to work and her back is all torn up even though she was wearing a saddle. I think maybe she was chased out of the coop and ganged up on by all the boys and i wasn't home to help :( I have her resting in one of the brooders with some heat. Sky is in with her, keeping her company. She and Sky hatched from the same clutch, my first ever incubator hatch. It was late when I got home last night but today, she will get a warm, Epsom salt bath and we'll try to see what the extent of the damage is :/

I am sorry to hear about this... I know you will be able to make her feel safe and more comfortable until you can get a good assessment on her.:hugs
These rainy days have always seemed to cause more problems with our birds. An older hen we had who had been declining overall for some time passed away monday night. I think the damp chill was just the final straw.

Aww, I'm sorry for your loss :(
I've been keeping Cleo a comfortable as I can for now she looks very tired. Sky is being a great companion, just laying next to her. Cleo has always been very submissive and would always squat for any roo that looked her way. I think a few of the big boys pinned down and wouldn't let her go. I'll be doing some rooster substraction here in the next few days I think
