Adam the pampered rooster is now in a quarantine pen at the farm where he can crow as much as he wants. He is going to have some changes in his future to adjust to, but I think he will do fine.
In other news, I have some celedon Coturnix quail that have just started laying their bright blue eggs. Very pretty little eggs, and birds.
And I am getting some goose eggs next Monday to incubate. Geese are among the hardest of poultry to incubate, so this will be a good test for my newest and most high-tech incubator. I will program it to run a daily cooling cycle to simulate the mother getting off the eggs to eat/drink/bathe. Also, the eggs will lay on their sides instead of upright in the trays.
