Hi Ya'll!'
Hey if anyone hears of ,or hears rumors of, anyone in Mercer County with Gold, Golden or Golden Salmon Marans, would you shoot me an email? Technically the name is Golden Salmon but folks call them by different names.
Thanks so much!

OK, my friend Jaime is in Telford, PA. SHe has some extra roo's she needs to find homes for. They are large fowl & i belive some are turkens & others EE's. I told her once the weather gets warmer to hold a swap at her house. Telford is in montgomery county and very close to bucks county.

I grew up there in Ambler, Pa near ft.washington................................

she is open to having them used for food & would like to find them homes soon. she has more roo's then hens & is scared they will hurt the girls. Can anyone help?

Well there you are, I looked for this posting and couldn't find it. I just had a guy here from the NW of PA to buy some EE's . Says he can't find them where he lives. Says he had two and the weasels got em.
Says he's got bears too. I didnt' get his exact place. Showed up early too. Drove 4 hours to get here. Never heard of BYC either.

I'll try to find out where he is. Maybe you folks could get some BYC bumper stickers and spread the word. I'm in Syracuse, NY. Breed delawares and hope to make a trip to PA this summer so anything I can do let me know. You know bring hatching eggs . Transport chicks etc.

Take care love ya

Yes, I'm taking the family to the farm show on saturday. Can't wait it is the first time going. We are in Wyoming County, and have 16 chickens as of today (we just got 6 new ones). New chickens make the new year especially good.

Hey! It's not just me!!!

My pullets started to lay last week then immediately stopped. I ran into an old guy at Tractor Supply today. he said it's all over this is happening. Happened to his pullets also who had just started to lay. Thinks it the extended cold. Said he had been to the Eighty-Four egg auction in Eighty-Four, PA. Usually there are tables and tables of eggs for sale. This time.... nothing. I have been reading the old classics on poultry rearing. Also talking to other folks on this thread:

The classic books say sprouted oats are better than any other sprouted grain for bringing pullets and hens into lay. This is a great thread with lots of helpful info from folks experienced in sprouting grains for their birds.
start at about page 23 and read forward.

I have gotten them the past two years and had great luck with them. Last year I ordered 100 and they sent me 102. I lost one a few days later and only one after that, so they seem to be very healthy. They grow great and I never had any leg or heart problems. It is funny you asked this since I am planning on placing my order here soon, which you will want to do as well since they seem to sell out quickly.
