Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Well, the contractor I hired to build the new coop/run turned out to be a con. Yes, I did give him $$ up front....you'd think by age 56, I'd know better.

DH is in the process of tearing down what the contractor did. There was very little salvageable. The contractor has not returned my calls for a while now and I'm ready to get the hounds after him.

If you live in the Butler area, beware of Derek Nelson. I talked to one of his references (after the fact

who is actually a FRIEND of his), and she has quit recommending him because he's been dishonest.

All I can think of doing is making a sign and sitting in front of his house. I know where his brother works and am tempted to call him just to be a beotch....this is definitely bringing out the beotch in me.

Can't tell you how many times I've collapsed in tears over the past 2-3 weeks. It has me so depressed. I even had some really pretty chickens lined up to add to the flock.

Thought I'd vent here cause only other BYCers know how incredibly depressing it is to have dreams of more chickens and a nice coop dashed.

We're trying to come up with a plan B. Will also be working on how many authorities I can get involved investigating him.... Attorney General's Office, Penna Department of Revenue, IRS, BBB.... cause I bet he doesn't report/pay taxes. Yep...got the hidden beotch awake.

Not only is it wrong but...I can imagine your dissappointment! Glad to hear you are not letting him off easy!

Darlene, your wreath is a work of art, makes me think of a dreamcatcher!

hi! I am not new to this site, but I normally do not post. My name is cathy from lehigh Valley. Had chickens 3 years now and this forum was such a tremdous help that first year! Everyone here was so helpfull and kind.

Trish so sorry about what you are going though.....

I also wanted to spread the word on here since this is a great and caring bunch. I just adopted some hens and a rooster from a woman in Hanover Township, Lehigh Valley, by Airport Road. Her township now forbids raising poultry and she has to rehome her entire flock by this weekend. All 7 months old, many breeds. Some looks fab, some seem to have been plucked a little or over mated , but otherwise healthy chickens. I feel so bad for her and my heart went out to her. I even brought home a rooster and I never thought I would have one. Always have had just hens. But he was cracking me up with his crowing earlier. I hope my neighbors find it funny too!

She is asking a fee per chicken. I know if you are like my hubby you will wonder why they are not free. I am sure she loves her babies dearly and a fee ensures they do not end up on a plate or in a fight club. Here is her craigslist posting to see for yourself and maybe help her out with community support, or perhaps bringing home some chciekns.
