Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Well, it depends what breed, and what you want. Fryers I like 3-4lbs, roasters not over 6lbs. You don't want them to be to old when they get this big, or they will be stingy and tough. Cornish Rocks are usually 6-8 weeks when you process them, roosters first, then hens a week later. If it is a leghorn usually 12-16 weeks. I don't actually do any of this, my cousin does. She buys the Cornish Rocks for meat, because they take half the time to grow. She sends her production roosters to auction, and uses that money to buy the CRocks. They hardly eat any feed. They taste yummy...........................Hope this helps :- )

Can anyone tell me of a place in Central PA to get roos processes? Also, what is the right age to do this?

I am North East PA - the Pocono Mtns - glad to see so many from PA here
