what is a mottled muscovy called? I want a pair, can I keep them in the coop n run with standard chickens?

I dont know what they are called but I keep my mallards in with my main hens and they do fine and alert me when there is something amiss

That could work, I will get back to you on that one, need to do a little research,,,My meat customers are used to getting birds that dress out at about 7 pounds, usually takes me about 15 weeks to get the typical meat birds to that.

Yeah they are a little slower on growth but ya get a bigger bird eventually and they are supposed to be good for meat and eggs ....

My muscovys wander the yard with the chickens...at night the ducklings go in the right side of the garage, while the chickens go in the left (coop side). Duck sometimes goes in with the ducklings and sometimes chooses to play weathervane on the top of the garage. The ducks have taught the chickens to drink from the sled and the duck bucket. ...

I dont have my run covered as I wanted a large one for them, will scovys fly out? I dont want my dogs to eat them either, and I would need to lock them in at night because of in the mnts and critters gettin them. thanks

Not the copper that you are looking for, but I have a dozen blue/black splash marans due to hatch the end of the month....eggs are from show lines but I have been warned that they are getting rust coloring coming thru.

Thanks for thinking of me, but I'd really like to stick with the black and blue copper,,,, if you know of any, let me know.

scoveys are arborreal (like trees) so yes, they'll fly out. Nothing funnier than Duck flying down off the peak of the roof.

We saw some really nice ones at the swap in Maryland the other weekend and my mom wishes she would've gotten some just the lady only had one hen and the rest were roos so that y she didn't get any. If you were closer im sure i could talk her into some
