People are so ungrateful

Exactly!

We have a neighbor that plows our house when he has time and is driving by and happend to think about. He does not do this on a reliable schedule and he does not do it exactly how I would like it (actually, he plows the part where my wife parks, and leaves my car with all the snow around it

) - but I dont care because I really appreciate the thought that goes into the work he does when he does it. Complain? Never going to happen.

The whiney woman's house should be skipped, or she should be charged at least double.

I was just thinking the same thing about her suing him for tree damage, etc. Especially if she's paid him anything. I would absolutely have him skip her house. If she asks, he can explain that she wasn't satisfied before, and he would hate to damage anything and to hire someone else.

My neighbor is kind enough to plow my driveway and has never asked for a penny, even when I've literally tried to hand him cash, he refuses. In the spring he goes to Florida for a few weeks and I house-sit and feed his geese in return. Now his geese are gone, and just today I told him to think up something for me to do in return for the plowing, since he no longer has the geese. He said "don't worry about it", but I do. People around here like to barter, favor for favor, etc. I like it that way.

This lady sounds like a jerk who would absolutely sue him. I would stay away from her driveway altogether.

Guess that sums up how we all feel about ungrateful people, huh?

No more free rides.

Time, fuel,maintenance.

He looses money every time he turns the tractor on.
Not to mention the neighbor thinks he should plow for 1940 wages.

Cut her loose and let her pay full price from someone else.
I would be curious to see how long after she pays the going rate for a plow, before her tune changes.

Our company charges 250 per hour. Plow time with truck and driver.
Skid steere the same.

I am always appreciative when our neighbor plows our lane. As a thank you (he won't take money) I always make him a basket of my home canned jams, apple butter and zuccinni bread that I had put up in the freezer. I would definitely pass your neighbor by.

x3...I would worry that anyone that rude and ungrateful might sue over something stupid (the tree for example). I don't know that I would even say anything to her...just go help out the folks who were appreciative. If she asks why she got skipped, politely explain that she seemed so unhappy with hubbies previous services that you guys just assumed she no longer wanted them.

Skip her house. Wave but keep on driving. If she asks why, tell her that you can't clean it to her expectations.

Wow. Yeah I would skip her place for sure. Makes it kind of scary to plow other places. Snow can damage things and someone could sue. I've heard of people losing lawsuits when they were trying to help. She sounds like she might try it.

Was your husband happy with cookies and stuff? We had a guy that did the same thing. I was never sure of the proper way to pay him. Seemed like he was just doing it to be nice. Never came to the door but I always gave him whatever we had in the freezer be it a gallon size bag of cookies, banana bread, chicken or whatever. He had 2 teenage boys, so I'm sure the cookies and banana bread were appreciated.

That's amazing someone would complain.

Sorry she does not know what a nice thing he is doing for her.

I would suggest not touching a flake of snow on her property, because it sounds like his good deed is going to land him in court with her.

If she asks why, I would just tell her that he was helping out the neighborhood by doing this freebee, but since she has a certain way she wants her place done, she should contract a snow removal company instead. And that they had a sale on snow shovels up at the hardware store.......
