Gee, with a mile long lake, I wouldn't worry at all. Grass makes up most of their diet and surely there is plenty of that. It will take years for them to overpopulate that lake. Some may be lost to predators, but waterfowl will spend nights in or very close to water and are very safe there. Wading birds and turtles are rough on babies in the spring, but probably their biggest danger is car traffic...........Pop

well miss lydia i had 11 but sold 3 yesterday so now i have 8. two female American buffs (which i am trying to find and American buff gander to go with them) a pair of Africans and 4 sebbies(two white one is curly breasted other smooth and one lavender curly and a Grey smooth breasted)

well the problem is that not all of it is grass their are a lot of parks, playgrounds and buildings on the lake shore and right now it is below freezing and snowing and the ducks and geese have no shelter to hide in from the elements and from **** head teenagers that like to run after them and throw stuff at them. the other day one of my friends went down their to feed them and while she was feeding them some one took their German Sheppard and let it off its leash and they laughtfed as they stood their and watched the dog run after the birds it make me so mad that people will allow their dogs to chase the animals

so in my opinion i am saving the animals life's

You are and did, I for one am very proud of you and your grandparents for caring enough to going to get these birds and givng them a forever home.Looking forward to hearing about a happy ending for the others.
