Really - can puppies be sent by air or something?

I am told they can but I think I would shudder to know how much that would cost. It may be worth looking into if you are really that interested. I still think there may be enough people here to caravan it across country. Really I am thinking I have a friend who drives truck and I think he goes through Nebraska all the time. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

By the way, I think she will be the spitting image of her mamma. She throws a female just like her in every litter.

OH find out from your friend, I'll check with the airlines to see what they say and estimate cost....

I need a dog like that SO bad, for my kids more than me... to take care of the kids and follow them around when they go on "adventure" into the trees....

Mine may be an exception to the rule for heelers, but she is the nicest heeler anyone has ever seen. That said, if you messed with my kids, she may tear your leg off and carry it home. They seem to be mostly puppies until they are a year and a half and then they start to straighten up and act decent, especially if they have been well socialized. Good watch dogs too.

I will call my friend tomorrow and see what he has to say. I know that he travels across country from Idaho to Pennsylvania all the time and if I remember right he goes through Nebraska.

Oh gosh that would be perfect!

Watch dog and kid companion is mostly what I need in a dog - and obviously not a hunting type which I know heelers aren't.

I think lab's are the same - they take a couple of years to get their act together

(wish human kids did it that fast)

Anyway - she'd have lots of room to roam around here, and two kids to drive her crazy

there also good for keeping them safe from snakes and things like that.

Yeah thats one of my big issues, you know kids, when they're wandering around they're not looking where they're walking..... I believe we have rattlesnakes here that are the biggest issue.
We also have coyotes and deer, which could be a problem if a 8 year old boy surprised them in the middle of the day.

you would have to keep an eye out on that pup for the first year or two with coyotes around. there bold enough to snatch a young dog or pup right off your porch.

I have a friend who had two dogs sent by air from....oh somewhere down here in the South, to Alaska. I have no clue how much it was, but I know she isn't rich.......they are a military family like us.

I have to restrain my dog when she sees coyotes. She would love nothing more than to take one on. She particularly dislikes other dogs and I think I lucked out, but she doesn't care at all about my chickens and so I let her out when they free range to keep strays and predators away. She is also the dog that saved me from a cow trying to trample me in a stall a couple winters ago. She took the beating for me. Toughest dog I have ever had. You may want to train yours to catch frisbees or something- heelers need a job or they will find things to do that you may not like.
