That is why I don't turn on the speakers unless I am "watching" something or listening to music. Where I used to work didn't have speakers and so I got used to it. It scares me everytime I forget it is on and I get mail!

I just leave my speakers off while I'm surfing Myspace.

It bothers me so much, my speakers are never on. I only turn them on to watch chicken clips posted here from youtube.

I keep my speakers on when I go to my son's website (his band, not his) because I am so danged proud of him for learning how to play 5 different instruments by ear and manage to have a band and have some success. Not everyone can listen to his stuff though....
