people with house chickens

ChickenPeep,
This would be so nice to happen.
Right now she is Superior General with those "chicks" they are twice her size and she bosses them around. Takes them out to forage. Hides them and disciplines the 3. I call them, The 3, because I can't get near them. She marches them all over and they follow her. One was peeping and peeping he/she was up on the top calling and peeping, then Dottie heard and started her peeping call and he/she ran like mad to where she was at.
Oh, my gosh, I never knew there was so much to know.
Thanks,
mg

I want a goose.
  • Is the Toulouse quiet. ?
I have looked up the
  • American Buff and the Pilgrim. Are they quiet. ?
I live in the city.

I have Toulouse geese in my flock (not in my house). They are a mellow and fairly quiet goose. They gabble amongst themselves very quietly, but when startled or alerting to visitors or strangers, they will get louder and may honk. When they do honk, it is quite loud.

Also, at the end of any conflict, even a mild one with no fighting, one will consider itself "the winner" and honk in triumph.

Trina is pretty quiet. She is still a baby so still makes "baby" noises. She kind of chirps in a goosey way everywhere she goes, but its not very loud. She sort of honks, but its a puberty type awkward honk, and I'm not sure she even knows she is doing it, it sorta just slips in the middle of her baby noises. Its hilarious. I would love to get some more, I too have looked into the buff and the pilgrim, they would be great to add, but any more I get will be outside. 3 house birds is plenty for me =)

I know a lady that has a house goose. It has been awhile since I saw her and back then a goose and chickens were not on my radar.
But the lady has a goose with these beautiful feathers that curl. And the goose wears a diaper in the house. Have to find out now what
her goose is and how she is doing.

Those are Sebastopol. They are gorgeous!!! I would love to have on as a house goose one day I think. You don't know Oliver do you? He's the "famous" house goose. His momma wrote a book and has tons of videos of him on YouTube. I think it's a genius idea haha.

Trina has been taking a LOT of car rides lately and she has picked out her favorite spot. She likes to feel the wind in her feathers I guess haha. She get's braver and sticks her head way out the window when we stop. She has a leash on under her breast so she's not going anywhere lol.
