It will just take time.

I was watching some history show once when it played clucking and crowing sounds. I could hear my roosters freaking out outside.

That is too funny!!!! My rooster doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason when he crows, just does it whenever. But when the neighborhood dogs are all going crazy over something, my outdoor rooster Hermanos usually chimes in.
beautiful :)
Thanks!

I hear you i lost my co co puff and lucky plucky pet pair last summer and i still can't get as close to the others as i used to. I've even considered letting my flock go, but i had hatched her last egg; which is why i'm trying to wean "hope" from the flock and bring her home. Then of course one of the boys from the hatch HAD to be quite possibly the sweetest shyest rooster i've ever seen...... so i still have the flock and hope is doing visits to my house for now until i can make a decision. I also have a mother porcelain d'uccle hen, in the house full time until the babies are big enough to get to the adult height perches in their little coop. It's been a full year this september and the pain of their loss is still as strong as it was then sometimes.

Thank you, but I'm afraid she was taken by "??" Hawk, Coyote, Owl, Fox, Big Cat? Only found some of those cute little butt feathers on the hill going up in a pretty straight line...faintly not a lot but enough...I know JamJam's feathers...:(

OH NO. How awful.
Was she far from her coop. ? Or who ever did it were they close by ?

The reason I ask, is, before I had chickens a very big hawk would come to this area and get a possum. Especially in the fall and the winter.
I live in the city.
So, two days ago, I was watching out the door just because, and I saw the hawks huge legs and he was flying up off the ground. I ran so fast I don't even know how ended up outside. The girls were free ranging, so my fear was he got a girl.
I found no fearthers, the babies were in a fright, I could just pick them up and take em right back to their protected coop run site. And the other girls followed me after the danger passed.
That hawk perched up on the power line and I clapped my hands made noise, he only moved when I started to run towrads him.
He did a fly over yesterday, everyone was in the coop site. Today is cloudy and some of the bigger girls are out. BUT Dottie the girl Japenaese Bantam is out with huge children that she hatched is foster mother to.
I thought I would be able to keep them out free range at least until September. Since food would be so plentiful for the hawk.

I am sorry for you and JamJam, it just the pits.
