Teazle333, what do you bathe bluebelle with? My silkies need a bath but I don't know what to use. The other question is, do you blow dry her, towel dry or what?
OMG It looks like you have a spoiled house chicken! Lol!
I would bath your babies with baby shampoo or a dog and cat flea shampoo or a tea tree one designed for small pets as I would blow dry its cold and your silkies are tolerant otherwise it will probably freak then out. I would warp the in a towel first to absorb excess water.
Put the drier on a low setting and lift the feathers to dry better keep checking the temperature or they could get nasty burns![]()
If its a warm day then they an dry naturally but I would bath them in the morning or they will get ill overnight.
I sometimes wrap Bluebelle in a towel and let her dry off on the sofa watching DR Dolittle haha her fave film !!! But in general I go with blow drying![]()

Hello everyone! Glad to find this thread via a very nice welcoming person who sent me a link. I have a house chicken and a house turkey! Its alot of up keep but its worth it.. Eggnog is my chicken i just got her from a friend she had a toe pecked off and another almost pecked off.. She couldn't keep her any more so she came to me and she decided she wanted to be a house chicken soo i just went with it. And since i already had a house turkey it was easy to adjust them together my house turkey is named little wing but we call her lurk or lurkey! Had her since she was a week old.. She couldn't walk and needed therapy which she got along with bi weekly injections for joint support cuz shes a broad breasted white and they are very heavy.. 30lbs
