people with house chickens

As long as she's liking it in there you should TOTALLY take her out to the store or something and see the reactions you get!
She seemed to love it. I zipped it up so just her head was out and she cooed and purred, just happy as a clam. I think I am going to start carrying her around the house in it for little stretches of time, then we are going out on the town! Lol!

I notice a lot of you that claim house chickens only have them in while they are young. My Shim is forever a house chicken. She has slept with me nearly every night for 4 years. Kitiara has for 3 years. They do love to go outside; the weather must be perfect or they are standing at the door to be let in.

Our 2 new rescues are quickly learning the house chicken ways. They sleep in an indoor coop.

I'm concerned they will poo on me at night. My girls are trained to drop 'it' over the edge of the bed to a potty pad on the floor. But they don't poo unless you wake them up. They also complain when I move a lot. Kitiara likes to walk up and down my leggs. They each pick a corner at the bottom of the bed, Shim sometimes likes to sleep next to the pillow. I usually have 2 cats and 2 dogs in the bed as well. No one fights, just sleepy cuddles.
i noticed my pics did not show up.

What kind of cage is that? I'm trying to do something similar.

Nuggetirl,

the cage is made of an old cat cage and an old dog cage attached to each other. i added a shelf with an igloo shaped cat litter box where they lay eggs = the eggloo!

and a wooden shelf wrapped in astroturf; the bottom of the cat part has a layer of linoleum, both for easy clean up.
i keep the new girls in the indoor coop at night and when i'm not home i keep Ruby in there; just for a while longer since she is still healing. they all usually run the house otherwise. they don't really run, they just site by me or follow me around doing chores.

the sleeping friends are Sammy, the dog cut like a lion; Mopar, my cat that recently passed away at age 17; Shim the chicken in the foreground of pic and Kitiara at the end of the bed. this is the usual every night. when i get up to use the restroom at night, i sometimes lose my spot.
this pic is Nina (Sammy's sister), Sammy, Mopar, Kitiara and Ginger (another of my old cat's that just passed away at age 15.

good luck with your indoor coop.

Precious!
My daughter just peeked over my shoulder and saw your pictures, and squealed right in my ear! Muscovies are her absolute favorite feather babies, and yours are so adorable I can easily understand how she couldn't control herself.

Muscovy babies are the best! These are mixed with Runner/Swedish drakes.
