Oooh, I might have to start doing the supervised indoor visit thing (luckily we have tiled floors). My husband would never agree to a full-time house chicken, but I'd love to have them come hang out inside while I do work.

And whoever posted above about having to wrap their house chicken in her pink blanket for bedtime: that is the cutest thing I've heard today!!!

This is a great thread. We keep our brooder in the house and I made the mistake of telling some of my coworkers today that I like to let the babies hang out on my lap while we're watching TV at night. You'll never see this on one of those "inappropriate discussions for the workplace" lists.... Now everyone really thinks I'm nuts... I also like to bring a chicken into the house when DH needs cheering up, or if we've had an argument, etc. It always brightens his mood!!

I've had bantams has house pets for years. Wouldn't be without them. I have a few in right now, but have to seperate the roosters. They are just like any other pet. Sit in my lap, warm and cuddly and love to be picked up and hugged and kissed. Small bantams make the best house pets.

i once had a nice pair of oeg bantam hens living in my apt, then i just HAD to push my luck and get a oeg roo, well the apt manager put a note on the door basicly saying my pets belonged in the country and they would all need to go (even the cats i paid a pet deposit on!)

Good evening everyone.

Thisis how much I love BYC, my monitor died and I am using my dd's DSI to be here. Do you know how long it takes to type on one of these? Oh my gosh...

Anyway I had to go get my eyes cked today. It was a new office so I had to fill out aton of paperwork. One of the questions was about hobbies. of course among other things i said chickens. A girl that works there has always wanted chickens, but thought she couldnt because she lives in an apartment. Of course I enlightened her about the joys of indoor chickens. She loves it, and plans to get a banty. Too cool. Add another to our ranks. lol

I have a monitor

Of corse I am pretty sure cavemen used this same one

But who's complaining

Gabby is going broody and I was offered some fertilized eggs for her to sit on. Now I just have to decide weather or not to let her. My hubby says we'd be lying to her, giving her someone else's eggs and expecting her to raise their babies. Of couse I know hes thinking one less egg a day. LOL
