1.) Has anyone used Permetherin liquid for depluming mites? A member kindly mentioned that she thought my rooster may have depluming mites. I have been pricing pour on Ivermectin when I realized I had an unopened bottle on liquid permetherin.
2.) Most of what I have gleaned is that depluming mites do not usually affect the neck area. My rooster has lost most of his saddle feathers on his neck and wattles. (Salmon Faverolles roosters have feathers on wattles) . He is loosing his tail feathers quickly as well. I see very few bugs as I have treated him and the rest of the flock with Permetherin powder and spray on.
3.) I am more seriously considering that the bare backs of my hens may be due to deplumming mites rather than the saddles that I made for them.
I do not want to loose this rooster, he is such a great addition to our lives. I have never met a rooster that is so intuitive and helpful with his flock.
