@DobieLover gave about the best(maybe only viable) solution, I don't see many others.
It will also allow you to open up that side of the coop for some much needed ventilation.

I suppose it could work, but the roof extension just seems a much better option as it solves another problem(ventilation). Just make sure if you go the tunnel route that you make an access point for you to grab a stuck bird and that it is wide enough for 2 birds to pass easily side by side.

@aart Thank you. There are more ventilation points in the coop. On the backside there are two cutouts at the highest point and there is another window on the opposite side of the coop. I may put windows in the front doors as well (as budgeting allows).

Probably not near enough for your climate, especially when coop is in full sun.

I suggest you put a thermometer inside the coop to monitor temps.

We’re also planning on running electric to the coop and installing an exhaust fan.
