So my mom and I went out to get our guineas in, and we didnt see Ridges so we went to the nest. We had a hoe so Mom and I went to see if she was broody. I took the hoe from my mom and poked Ridges with the round end of it. She opened her beak and flared her wings, making herself bigger. We went and got my dad, to see if he could help. He grabbed a curtain rod and started jabbing her with it. He was finally able to get her off the nest and I was the one who needed to grab the eggs. Once I had the eggs, holding them to my chest and running, we were able to get her into the coop and I put the eggs in the coop. We went out later to see if she was broody, and she was not.

A week ago tomorrow, she stopped going broody for the second time. So two weeks ago she went broody again, and my dad and I spent a couple minutes chasing her off, and she did get off. ( this is after the eggs from the old nest got eaten by an animal. Same happened to this nest) she went broody for a week and after two days of me and a parent chasing her off, I came out with garden gloves that FIT me and grabbed her. She pecked at me a few times, but picking her up saves a lot of time and energy. Now their new nest is under a Pine Tree where a fence separates my farm and the Swamp. We own 11(?) Acres of swamp I believe...

I am so sorry it has taken forever for this to come out! I've been very busy!
I had a hen like that. Ugh its so frustrating. She was "Fixed" with the "put in a crate for three days" method but she wouldnt stop going broody. I had to do it over and over again. (Following this thread)

Hey! I am so sorry that I have not posted in a while! I have been so busy on my farm! I got two new guineas a few days ago! Pie ( who is a pie... she is super sweet. She loves cuddles, unlike any other Guinea if mine...) and Ditsy ( he is a white male... When he was younger he fell off of the barn rafters at his old house, and fell on his head. He has a chuck out of his head. I am pretty sure that has lead to some neurological problems, but he is happy with his sister, Pie.) I gave my friend 12 eggs last year in May last year. She got nine to hatch but was soon left with four. Pearl, Dimwit, Pie, and Ditsy. Dimwit ended up getting run over by a car, and Pearl started attacking people. They re-homed Pearl, and wanted to give me Pie and Ditsy. I gladly accepted. I have been wanting a pie for such a long time! Pie is super sweet and I can catch and hold her with no problem! Ditsy is more of a wild child, but he is quite sweet, besides his lovely craziness! Love y'all!! 💜

Okay, so! I hatched and raised 8 guinea keets. Successfully! *Sings* For the first time in forever! I finally was able to keep them alive! Their names are: Ron, Rliey, Phoenix, Moon, Iris, Russell, Eclipse, and my only white one out of that clutch, Frost. We put our two adult girls, Madame Pearl and Ridges, in with the babies, and the babies tried to kill them 😂😅 Way to act towards your mom, huh? Such good children!!! But that is besides the point. I just wanted to tell you guys that. And.... Drum roll please!!!......... I should be more active, posting more on here. I have completely neglected this page for no reason at all. I will try my hardest to keep up with this and post as often as I can. Love y'all 💜😁
