Persistent diarrhea

Ok just to be safe I disinfected their water containers tonight and will start tomorrow with just plain water and giving them only their pellet feed to eat. Thanks all for your advice.

Have you added any new birds to an existing flock recently?

persistent watery diarrhea for weeks. Persistent as in it has stayed like this. But, I do see firm stools as well.

It seems like only during the day in the run. All the poop in the coop from nighttime is always firm.

I know when they drink a lot I have heard it can cause diarrhea. Is this normal in summer in Texas?

I would make fresh water available at all times, even when you offer electrolytes.

You mention that they have firm poop during the day and that ALL the poop from nighttime is firm - you just notice watery poop during the day. Can you get a photo?

I'm thinking it's heat and drinking a lot since you are seeing firm poop overnight.

It would just be a photo of wet sand clumped together. I have coarse river sand so you don’t really see the brown in it. But when they hang out in the backyard while we are swimming and poop on the stamped concrete you can tell it’s watery poop. More water with grainy brown poop rather than homogeneous and sludgy if that makes sense. Sorry so gross but trying to describe since it could be a long time before I am able to take a picture of the diarrhea. Once it dries in the sand run you can’t even see it, but I sift the sand with a “holey shovel” and the clumps remain. Which is good so I can still get the nasty out. Fortunately it hasn’t rained in weeks so it’s not all just getting washed into the sand. But I am throwing away like 25-50lbs of sand a week from the sifted clumps haha.

That might the time to take a pic.

No worries. It's part of keeping chickens and one of the best tools for diagnosis..but pics are really the best.
