Personal take on the Violeta Color

From my personal observations, Those that are producing really good spalding patterns and colors are in some cases making them look better and healthier. @Midnightman14 mentioned purples and I have to agree purples can really look terrible sometimes and IMHO its one of the colors that only looks good in the BS pattern spalding or IB. @KsKingBee hit the nail on the head, beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder,

Yep, Buzz is out of Bobs and his mate who are supposed to be 3/4 green BS. Some of my finest breeding stock, and of course the Spaulding Purple BS pair I am bringing you are from Poppa P.

The more I talk to people on these various forums and pages regarding purples the more I am inclined to believe the color mutation would have nearly died out if they had not been bred with spalding birds. The birds above are immaculate, I have not seen more than 1 or 2 cock birds of the purple mutation that are that richly colored. It's definitely a major example of hybrid vigor.

Poppa P has very little Spaulding in him, the hens I am breeding him to are pretty obvious Spauldings and made very beautiful babies. Here is a High % Spaulding Purple BS cock that will be four this year and have his own harem. This is in full molt and he looks awful but you can see the Spaulding effect on the size of the neck, neck colors, face, and crest.
