Pesky feral cats

When we lived out in the country, my Dad and I would kill nasty feral cats that "kills" any kitten, youngsters and queens. We didnt have more than six queens and if a litter is found, we would put them down immediately. We were unable to get them spayed but they were excellent mousers and never bothered the chickens. After awhile, we had no more new cats coming in until we moved out. If there was a feral cat that has the disease, bullet would find them.

As for city, it is a huge problem. Yes, more will come in if we get rid of the cats themselves.

I showed it to my aunt about alleycat and she said no.

For those of you thought I have a problem with feral cats....I dont LOL! Its my aunt that has the problem. Feral cats in my area is rare because of heavy dog owners in our area LOL!

I think that ferals returning is more for the city setting, as there are ferals everywhere....out of town settings, obviously, most of these are dumped. And even in the rural setting, if someone finds out they can dump cats...they will. I, unfortunately, unfortunately have had dogs and cats dumped at our house. Why can't people be responsible and take care of their animals. This world does not need more puppies and kittens. We have kept a few of the cats and 1 dog....the rest have been spayed/neutered and shipped to other homes. The only ones we have destroyed are the sick or hurt ones. We have had to destroy a big tom that was picking on all the other cats, could not be trapped, and I was concerned for my small backyard livestock (bunnies and chickens and my pets). Trust me...I know the damage a feral cat can do. There are feral dogs too...and there can be pet dogs with homes, but once they start roaming in packs (usually when their family is gone of the day or when they are put out at night) they are nothing but problems. We had a pack of "pet-family" dogs that would gather and run down deer and hamstring them...then go on to the next deer. No eating, just mauling.

Does she own a few live traps, or can she borrow some for a few weeks? My thought is she can tie the traps open, and ONLY put food in the traps, in such a way that the cats can't get to it outside of the trap. After a week or so, when the cats feel the trap is safe and won't fall, untie them and start catching them.

buy a 12 pack of coca-cola (root beer works too)put it in a pie pan or water dish one can a day/night.....cats cant burp it makes them bloat and takes care of them without poison
