Pesticides?

I do believe there is huge benefit to be had from being exposed to local soil. Unless you are never going to allow them to have access to your yard, it becomes a moot point regarding previous pesticide application. Only you can decide what your risk tolerance is.
I'm planning on free ranging them so i will probably introduce soil as soon as it dry's out enough. I saw on one of your previous posts that if you have your chicks inside you should ween them off heat at 3 weeks? I have kept them inside and the older ones are 2 1/2 weeks old right now. Of course, as you wean them, let their behavior be your guide. If you turn the lamp off and they huddle and act miserable, then... give them back their heat. Chances are: If you give them a scrambled egg, they will run around for several hours and not miss the heat at all.
