These have been our "pet" ducks. They live in our pond and are locked up from predators at night. They are even trained to come when called! They are flightless and need a safe yard with a pond or kiddie pool to play in. The hen lays a nice big duck egg for us daily and the drake watches over her - although he's never aggressive to humans. They are both a year old and very healthy. The drake just "loves" our chickens too much and is way too rough with them. We are sad to see them go, but he's nearly killed a couple chickens. The drake and hen are very bonded and must go together.
