When I moved here I was introduced to a weird gnat...these darn things bite hard! Itty bitty miniscule black dot gnat...how can something so tiny hurt so bad? They suck your blood & leave welts! Nasty buggers.

I think that's what we have here. The kids have little welts on their necks that bleed when they get bit. Nasty creatures.
