Teleprompters! Do we really need them? I mean, everyone knows you're reading from one while attempting to look like you're making eye contact with the audience. Can't we just read from notes like Kennedy used to?

When you're doing something technology-involved, and you keep trying over and over again, then you go to show someone that it's not working... then it magically works.

Pet peeve:

Incorrect weather reports.

They called for snow two days now, so I blanketed the old mares with their winter rain blankets. And not one snow flake (which is fine with me), just meant more work for me each morning rugging-up horses.

Yeah, it's Hound's Tongue. My neighbor calls it Beggar's Lice. It's actually kind of a pretty plant, but the burrs are crazy annoying.

I couldn't find a good picture of the burrs. Here's what the plant looks like, though, before it's gone to seed:

Yap, those are called beggar lice here, too (SE MO). Never heard of them before moving here. Fortunately they seem to comb out pretty easily with a fine-toothed comb. Thanks for the pic of the plant, I did not know where they came from.
