Pet Peeves

Wow, 29 donkeys? I'll bet they have one big a$$ feed bill! Sorry, I couldn't resist! I'm also sorry I didn't spell it the way I shoulda ... didn't want to end up in chicken-jail for "language!"
They may not "need" 29 donkeys, but I'd bet money those 29 donkeys needed them! So glory to them for taking them in and caring for them! That's 29 less donkeys running wild in the streets and causing trouble! 🤣

I'm so sorry. I've gotten pretty rude comments myself. And even if you have thick skin, it still hurts coming from those closest to you.
The last time we saw or heard from her was 2005. If she wants to be mean and hateful she can do it all by herself, we want no part of her.

I feel ya. Just got done splitting all day Sunday. Thought for sure I was going to be good when I split last year. NOPE.

Once we cut, split and stacked About 6 cords of Oak & Maple so it would be dry for the next winter. The stream that ran through our field backed up because of an ice dam. When we went for the firewood it was gone! It had been taken away by the flooded stream!

40°F in NM is not cold. It's practically T-shirt weather. 40°F here in MO is mizzerble, joint-wrenching, tear-jerking, bundle up in a blanket by the fireplace cold. But I'm older now than I was then ...
That's why we left the snow belt of Upstate NY. Got tired of pulling stupid half froze cattle out of snow drifts or out of the frozen pond.

It's not the size of the house. It's how long is the winter and how low the temperatures go. Lol 🥶
I live in northern Ohio, our wood burner is constantly going from middle of October to May and we only go through 2 cords. It gets below 0° here, too

Houses where this is the only TV wall. The TV should be at eye level, not hugging the ceiling over a hot fireplace. It eliminates A LOT of houses from our search. Maybe some folks don't use their TV much, and honestly, good for them! But my husband and I are avid gamers and enjoy relaxing in front of the tube before bed. I'd rather not have a crooked neck from doing so.

It's actually safe to put a tv over the fireplace, as far as the heat goes, especially fake fireplaces and it looks like that one is. But I understand what you are saying about craning your neck. There are other options of where to put the tv, though
