Wonder what they would have said to my 120km TWICE a day to get to work in winter too! For over 20 yrs! And got up at 4am to do chores!

They wouldn't have cared, with the people i have on mind.
I have to be at work at 6 am, I get up at 4:30. Summer is fine, birds are up, bunnies are scurrying, the sky is bright. Winter? It's cold, there's ice on the road. Was that a shadow by my car or a bear?

I’d err on the side of bear…. Once you walk into one you look twice!

I was just thinking, for some isles folk here that's (~15 miles) about 90 minutes by boat. 2½ hours if the boat's going to another of the isles first.

When they raise our speed limit to 90, I'll try to remember to let you know

Most of where I have to drive is about a 12-20 minute drive, so I mixed up time with how many miles it is.
Don't ask why.

It's 30 miles here to the nearest WM and everything else useful. Dr., vet, PT, hospital, car mechanic, chiropractor, therapist, pharmacy, KFC, yada yada. My granddaughter does this probably every day of the week and sometimes twice a day because she forgot something. Ain't no thang.

I was trying to figure out what you meant by WM and came up with Windmill before I came up with the store

I'm not that far away from stuff, but you still need a car to do anything.

I like not being in a city/town, but it would be nice to be able to walk to things

Oh boy do I understand that! I've never lived anyplace with such a large snowbird population before. It's... interesting.
